Improvement Suggestions: Food-4-Patriots
These are a few suggestions for you, Frank.
I think that you have the concept of salesmanship down pretty well, as making the initial purchase is an easy process, and your delivery process is fast and complete. If there happens to be anything improper about a purchase (missing items, etc.) your customer service staff takes care to correct it.
On your order page, I wish you would allow for more than just a three month purchase, it would be appreciated. Only after buying a three month supply, did I become aware that you offered a larger supply. Then I had to make a separate purchase.
In order for open packages to be better preserved, and to lessen the possibility of food spoiling, or doling out excessive portions, smaller packaging should be used whenever possible. Either that, or some sort of container should be included which allows for temporary storage of unused product. That way, you don't have to finish off unfinished product even if you'd rather eat something else for a change.
As others have said, I think you should include additional items such as coffee, tea, and other drink additives. I especially miss seeing meat in your selections. Meat is an important product in my diet, and not getting any for a year or so, in deference to the large amounts of pasta/rice items that you do provide, isn't satisfactory to me.
The lack of certain items from the diet that you provide, left me searching through the products offered by other companies, and making purchases from them to supplement what I already bought from you. As it turns out, that was a good thing as I found that Mountain House #10 cans are offered that provide many products that can easily supplement your meatless dishes. Food diversity could be quite a significant morale booster when in an emergency situation.
You might provide better information regarding calories, portions, etc. as simply stating the number of portions isn't helpful at all when comparing product lines. When such information is sketchy, usually I think that the seller has something to hide? Do you?
Your extras are a nice touch, but I think that you could mix then up a bit. Instead of those four basically useless multi tools, perhaps you could include one such multi tool, one credit card sized knife, one magnifier/fire starter, light sticks, or maybe a ferrous rod fire starter? I'm sure that you could use your imagination and come up with a package that is a better selection and stays within your budget.
I hope this helps your decision making process regarding future packaging and product offerings.
