Disipointed in the packaging

The 16 Servings are in 3 packages. Each with 4 servings. Not sure how to cook just one serving.

More Problems with Packaging

The Zip Lock on the Main Bag broke on the second time opening it. Both halves are on the one side. the half that inserts into the middle of the other half tore off when opening. I did see that the instructions for the oatmeal is for one serving at a time, however the other two have instructions to cook all four servings at once. I guess I will have to do the math to divide by 4 so I can cook one serving at a time.

Not Good

The Oatmeal Ziploc broke on the 2nd opening. Had to use clips to keep it closed. Also the Maple Sugar was in big clumps. Hard to guess how much to add to the oatmeal.
Asked my wife if she wanted to try the Potato Soup. She asked me to read Her the Ingredients, most of which I could hardly pronounce. After hearing some of the ingredients, she said "No Way, Those are bad (unhealthy) Ingredients.

Too many 5 Stars from people that have not tried it yet.

I can't believe how many people gave this 72 Hour Kit 5 Stars. Reading through them, so many of them have not even tried it yet.

Diabetic or Cholesterol????

No idea on how this will work for those with diabetes or need to maintain low cholesterol. Also, what is the sodium content? Food sensitivities - so great concern about enhancers (MSG) that would result in being sick during a crisis. Want something that is geared towards diabetics with focus on natural, no artificial ingredients or allergens (i.e., nuts) that won't raise cholesterol or blood pressure (via high sodium content). While not compact, I do have a 3 month pantry of those items I know are healthy, low sodium and no artificial ingredients. For emergency, have found "survival tablets" that meet dietary needs, high in vitamins, low sugar with no artificial ingredients - these are compact and have purchased enough for a 16 day supply that could be rationed for one month. Between my personal pantry, the emergency tabs, and huge seed stock pile (over 30,000 seeds of non-GMO heirloom variety of fruits and veggies) I feel confident to provide for myself should there be a SHIF event or natural disaster.

fraud!

I visited the lifted.com site and they are promoting a free 72hour survival food kit (S&H extra) for answering two questions and being born before 1965 sponsored with food4patriots.com. So, answered their questions, response said we qualified and to click on ( a highlighted area) to claim the kit. The 'click' (on highlighted area) brought the screen to " 404 ". Screen, which means not recognized. What gives "patriots" ?

Full review on my website

2 weeks since purchase and still not notified my order has been shipped. Not a very good first impression when so many other companies ship within days. Full review will be on my website shortly describing my experience for others. I had hoped to receive the food so I could try it before posting however my patience is running out

very disappointed

This "free" 72 hour supply is not even worth the $15 shipping and handling. The total calories in this kit is just under 4,000. That means eating only 1300 calories per day. I eat more than that on a diet. There is very little protein in these meals and 8 of the 16 servings are oatmeal. Not at all what I was expecting. I can see why they give you such a hard sell when you order your "free" sample. I'm glad I stuck to my guns and waited for my 72 hour supply to come. I will not be ordering any more.

not what I expected

72 hour food supply is in 3 packages that once opened are no longer shelf stable for 25 years. shipping was twice what it should have been for priority mail envelope. I think it's a total SCAM and not worth the money invested. would suggest that people look seriously at what they are getting.

God Service

The only thing I have had a chance to try is the travelers stew. This item I did not like. I found it tasteless. I had to add spices to it. The quality of the packaging was excellent and also was the service. I will be trying the other items soon. I wish when making an order you could pick and choose the items you want included in the order.

Packaged badly

So I'm one person who is starting to do a little prepping. I got the free 72 hour food kit and it just arrived. These aren't single or two serving packages like I though. Which means I have to either measure out single servings or mix the entire 4-8 servings at once. This is terrible in a SHTF situation if I don't have refrigeration to store the remaining servings. It should be broken up into single serving pouches.

Not for Disaster's

I thought it was going to be like the MRE's( Amy, military food). It's just zip bags you have to cook all at once, where you keeping it, if it doesn't get eaten? If it's supposed to be for survival; let's say your stuck in a hurricane, powers out, you have electric stove, and can't go outside to build a fire. Well how are you cooking it? Have to make sure you have a propane stove or some kind of burners to use these foods. I really thought it was going to be like the MRE's that have a bag inside your meal bag, that you put water in it, then whatever food is in that bag, you put in the bag of heating water for it to cook. Honestly I really strongly suggest everyone look into the MRE'S, so your not, going hungry during a bad storm or disaster.. So you don't have to worry about how you're cooking it and you don't waste any of the food. There vacuum sealed, can't get ruined, have more choices and will help you survive any kind of disaster your going through. Hopefully nobody will need to, but good to have. I can't believe I spent money on this and that much. Definitely not worth it. I feel like this is a cruel joke, I only got it because of Hurricane Irma. I could go to the store and find the same crap and get a lot more and be stuff actually like. Oh, and who wants to worry about how you're doing dishes with the only bottle water you got, that you need for drinking and food in worse case scenario?. Just go buy a big can of homemade potato soup and other canned food from store, its cheaper, last just as long and can eat out of can or heat up, how ever n if you can. I'm so glad I only wasted my money on a 72hr kit or I would be furious right now. I'm looking into MRE's, at least you have a way to cook them and there proportioned, so you don't have to waste it all. Hell I'm lucky I still have a home after Hurricane Irma, let alone food at that time. I know this is part of their plan, spend money on the food and then have to buy all the rest of survival crap. To expensive, I'm telling you look into the army stuff and order, buy MRE's. Everything is all together and all you need is water. Don't have to worry about wasting, cooking, dishes, your water because of dishes, can survive through almost every thing and plenty of choices, small enough you can store almost anywhere and just really useful and safe to have for any kind of disaster you n your family are in. I bet this won't be posted, they have a good idea, just need

Only good for families, not for single people.

I'll hold on to it in the event I need it but, had I realized this would come in just three bags of 8 servings each, I would not have ordered it. Like a dummy, I ordered the 4-week kit with the extra 72-hour kit. I am single and thought this came in single serve packages. Funny, I did not see any of the reviews stating that until AFTER I placed my order. There are better offerings elsewhere.

Too much

While I do admit the food is great, the packaging is not. I am single and the food is packaged for families! It goes bad before I can eat it all. I end up throwing two thirds of it away because it will spoil in a survival situation with no refrigeration. Offer the same thing in individual packages and I'll come back! A family of four can cook four individual pkg within waste.

salt overload

So, my roommate and I tried the Travelers Stew two days ago. Made it according to directions. Needless to say, it didn't look like stew. Albeit stew comes in different forms but this looked like a thin soup. Also, while I realize, that while surviving one needs salt, because when you sweat you lose salt, somehow salt overload takes away some of the appeal and what happens if you have high blood pressure?
Will we try a soup from the 72 hour kit, we'll give it an other whirl. As for the stew, my roommate added chopped up chicken and boiled potatoes to it to make it more palatable and less salty.

To tell the truth...

"Our food is guaranteed to taste just as great 25 years from now as it does today."

This may be true...but hard to disprove. And not necessarily a good thing...
I received some of this survival food. Made it. Tried it. You like pasta? Rice? Starch? Salt? You may be pleased.

Were I starving to death, I'm sure I'd eat this. But not otherwise. Freeze-dried tastes FAR better. More expensive? You get what you may for.

Moreover, Just add boiling water...? I suspect when the SHTF, potable water, much less less a way to boil it, may be in short supply.

I'd rather buy canned food I could consume straight from the can, if need be. Veggies. Beans. Fruit. Will they last 25 years? Dunno...but seems like a better alternative to me.

Emergency preparedness

I thought the packets were individuall serving packs. There are just 2 of us so a pack that serves 4 doesn't make sense. If individual packs are too expensive then maybe pack in servings of 2.

I really loved 3/4th's of the food but..

The Blue Ribbon creamy chicken rice. I could eat that every day for the rest of my life. It was amazing. And everything else was great except the travelers stew. The travelers stew tasted so plain and horrible. They need to take that completley off the menu. I dont know how it got through testing...Everything else had amazing flavor. And I'm the type of person that pours salt on EVERYTHING, and i would love this food in an emergency. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because the serving sizes are 3/4th's cup and that's per 4 servings. That's not going to hold me over long in an emergency. I do want to add to that, that these servings are very filling. Also, the calories per serving are only around 190 calories per serving. That's pretty low if this is all I have to eat. Those are my only concerns. With that being said, everything but the travelers stew tasted amazing!!!! I will most definitely purchase from this company again, even with all of my concerns because the food tastes amazing and they make it so filling. Thank you food 4 patriots!!!

Excellent Packaging & Shipping

Tried the Traveler's Stew and was not impressed. Ended up adding stewed tomatoes and spices. Have not yet tried another bag. Still a great way to store food for a crisis.

Family of 5

Bought for emergency use only but then in the business of life started using it for a quick put together meal. I can't fully recview on the taste bc I am on a restricted diet and I can't consume dairy, soy, wheat etc but it was super easy to prepare! Hoping to try the meats and fruit and veggie options.

Good, But......

Food is packaged great and taste good, but it takes way too long to prepare and uses too much of your resources, especially if your using sterno or camp fuel. About a half hour to cook one of these meals when I can boil water in 5-8 minutes with other foods and pour directly into bag to cook. I like the food but if I am in a situation where my resources are limited, these meals won't do.
